PURPOSE

H.B. Fuller’s Engineering Adhesives segment develops adhesive solutions for the automotive and aerospace, wood and composite, electronics and energy, glass, durable assembly, and bus, truck, rail and recreational vehicle industries. As these dynamic markets continue to change, and consumers demand lighter, safer, greener and more reliable products, we partner with our customers to deliver highly engineered solutions.

The Sr Process Engineer for electronics board level technology is responsible for overseeing all aspects of these process technologies within the engineering organization. The person will lead in designing, developing, and bringing to commercial readiness advanced electronics adhesives, packaging optimization, and assembly process technologies. 

Activities include overseeing engineering activities within the technology scope, overseeing and mentoring process engineers, engineering technicians, and similar positions regarding engineering activities and technology, process technology synthesis, process design, process development, process control/quality, calibration, process capability analysis, test, measurement, maintenance, and assembly.  Aspects of the job may also require machine or equipment design, process consulting, process research, process commercialization, and process installation.

 

Job Description

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and bring to commercial readiness advanced electronics manufacturing, packaging, and assembly technologies including Optoelectronics Assembly, MEMS Packaging, Microelectronics Packaging, and Electronics Packaging

  • Oversee and mentor process engineers, engineering technicians, and similar positions regarding engineering activities and technology.

  • Activities include process technology synthesis, process design, process development, process control/quality, calibration, process capability analysis, test, measurement, maintenance, and assembly.

  • Aspects of the job may require machine or equipment design to laboratory/production facility conditions, process consulting, process research, process commercialization, and process installation.

  • Synthesis of new process technologies, manufacturing solutions, production systems, process tools, and material solution

  • Obtain customer requirements and translate those into proposals & communicate to the project team responsible for delivering the solution to the customer.

  • Conduct presentations to customers for project proposals, process technology, packaging technology, and project results.

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with groups including customers, sales, engineering teams, operations leaders, operations teams, purchasing, and external subcontractors.

  • Synthesis of new process technologies, manufacturing solutions, production systems, process tools, material solutions, and commercialize technology.

Minimum Requirements  

  • Bachelor of Science Degree

  • 4+ years of hands-on electronics, optoelectronics, microelectronics manufacturing experience  

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Ability to produce hi-quality documentation materials using tools such as Power Point and Microsoft Word

  • Product production planning and knowledge, manufacturing, process development problem solving skills, failure mode analysis, process analysis skills and cost reduction techniques

  • Ability to synthesis new process technologies, manufacturing solutions, production systems, process tools, material solutions, and commercialize technology.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred Requirements

  • BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Science, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering

  • Master of Science Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineering

  • Working knowledge of electronics/optoelectronics/microelectronics assembly technology and equipment

  • Publication of authored technical articles

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
