The primary role of Engineering function within Product Development team is to create specifications and designs for new products or improvements and enhancements to existing products. Works closely with customers,Ā developersĀ and other stakeholders to understand and define customer needs in these designs. Features are aligned to a timetable and areas of responsibility. Developers mayĀ solicitĀ customers for feedbackĀ regardingĀ product usability and desired future enhancements. Software Engineers who design, write and test code for the product should be matched inĀ the eitherĀ Software Engineering Applications or Systems. Product developers who specialize in hardware systems should be matched to Hardware Engineering.Ā

Brightree, a ResMed company, is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Brightree Resupply engineering team. This role plays a critical part in scaling the SNAP product toĀ broaderĀ market, supporting key and highly prioritized initiatives.Ā 

As an experienced software engineer, you will work closely with business and technical leaders to refine our technical direction and product strategy while delivering data-driven, intelligent solutions that improve patient outcomes in the HME industry.Ā

You are a collaborative team player, eager to work across disciplines, mentor junior developers, and deliver high-quality, resilient, and high-scale distributed systems that have a direct impact on our customers.Ā

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Write code to improve new/existing software solutions, services, components, and interfacesĀ 

  • Write software tests and unit tests toĀ validateĀ software solutionsĀ leveragingĀ test-driven development techniquesĀ 

  • Participate in architectural, design, and code reviews providing insight to other engineers and their solutionsĀ 

  • Design and create relational databasesĀ leveragingĀ data management and data structures best practicesĀ 

  • Build and deploy software packages using Continuous Integration and Continuous Development best practices for delivering software as a serviceĀ 

  • Apply AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Augment, MCP servers, and Agentic AI frameworks) to enhance productivity and code quality.Ā 

  • Leverage known secure programming principles to design new software solutions, services, components, and interfaces that meet industry and government standards for security and data protectionĀ

Required Qualifications & ExperienceĀ Ā 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer ScienceĀ or related field.Ā 

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably using Microsoft technologies in a web-based, high-traffic system.Ā 

  • ExpertiseĀ in ASP.NET, including Razor,Ā WebForms, Web API, WCF, JavaScript, CSS, and caching services.Ā 

  • ProficiencyĀ in MS SQL Server (T-SQL/SQL) in a high-volume transaction environment.Ā 

  • 2+ years of experience developing and operating applications in AWS, with a strong understanding of key AWS services and toolsĀ 

  • 2+ years of experience developing front-end applications using React or React NativeĀ or another frond-end frameworkĀ 

  • Proven ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices.Ā 

  • Proactive problem-solver with an ownership mentality, always looking for opportunities toĀ optimizeĀ system performance and stability.Ā 

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and agentic AI integrations to improve software delivery velocity.Ā

Preferred Skills & ExperienceĀ 

Ā 

ExperienceĀ decomposing monolithic applicationsĀ into smaller, autonomous services.Ā 

Knowledge ofĀ Domain-Driven Design (DDD)Ā and best practices for designing scalable services.Ā 

Hands-on experience withĀ Docker containerizationĀ in production environments.Ā 

Familiarity withĀ Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) frameworks.Ā 

Healthcare or HME industry experience will be a plus.Ā
