About the Role:
1ABOVE QUALITY SERVICES LLC is looking for a dedicated and reliable Custodian to join our federal custodial services team in Norfolk, VA. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties in federal facilities including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors using commercial-grade cleaning equipment
- Sanitize and disinfect restrooms, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces
- Empty trash receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas
- Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper as needed
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or facility concerns to supervisors
- Follow all federal facility protocols, security procedures, and compliance standards
Requirements:
- Prior custodial, janitorial, or building maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to pass a federal background check and security clearance screening
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemicals, and safety procedures
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30–50 lbs for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
