Overview
Clean and maintain guest room floors, corridors, service landings and linen closets. Support Room Attendants to ensure efficient cleaning of guest rooms.
Responsibilities
Level One
Know your job.
· Complete job skills training and possess a clear knowledge of the job
· Know property standards (SSI) and room types
· Listen attentively in Pre-shift and ask for clarification of assignments and expectations
Be on time.
· Read your schedule, follow attendance guidelines and report to work on time, in the proper uniform
· Follow clock in and out procedures
Be on stage.
· Maintain a friendly, approachable, always willing to assist attitude
· Follow property personal appearance and uniform standards, be well groomed, practice good personal hygiene
· Use approved verbiage, scripting when interacting will all guests
· Follow proper procedure and scripting when entering a guest room
Serve.
· Conduct yourself professionally and collaboratively with Guests and fellow Associates an in accord with the company’s service culture, “The Keys to Making it Right.”
· Work closely with Room Attendants to prepare rooms for cleaning, maintaining stocked housekeeping carts with linen and supplies throughout the shift
· Process both incoming clean laundry and outgoing dirty laundry for daily processing
Work smart.
· Understand the needs of the shift and the order to your day by using the Houseperson Checklist
· Maintain cleanliness on all service landings as assigned
· Ensure all supply closets are stocked to documented SSI
Use your tools.
· Use the approved tools and checklists to complete assigned tasks
· Complete Houseperson checklist and return to your supervisor at the end of your shift to checkout for the day
Measure Up.
· Produce “ready to clean” guest rooms by stripping linen and removing all trash from the room so that Room Attendants may efficiently clean and turn the room
Respect the space.
· Keep your work area, cart and closets clean and organized
· Maintain clean guest corridors including picking up any trash, glasses, trays from floors, sweeping stairwells, dusting walls, fixtures and baseboards, cleaning ice and vending machine areas
· Report any deficiencies in rooms or public areas promptly to your Supervisor or through the work order management tool as applicable
Be safe.
· Report unsafe work conditions or practices and safety or security violations in accordance with company policy
Support the Team:
· Cooperate with other Associates and supervisors striving to create a positive work environment
· Support team efforts through carrying out responsibilities in a constructive and professional manner
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
TypeQualificationExperienceMust be at least 18 years old.SkillAble to read, write and speak basics English.- Able to understand and apply basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiply and divide in all units of measure) in order to obtain correct dilution ratios, portion control, etc.
- Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two- step instructions. Able to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variation.
- Able to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds repetitively during entire shift.
- Good attitude and work ethic practices in order to attain maximum operating efficiency while ensuring adherence to established guest satisfaction criteria.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as required.
