Job Requirements
High School Grad or Equivalent
Required: Related - 5 years
Related experience includes 5 years working with Health Insurance Plans OR Medipac OR Registration/Billing OR a combination of the three. Medical Terminology required. Associates degree preferred
Position Overview
Provides a direct link between the patients, hospitals, primary care physicians and insurance providers. Determines financial eligibility, verifies insurance and benefits, provides counseling, resources and education, coordinates referrals from PCP's and monitors admissions. Serves as a resource for patients, families and physician office staff for bills, claims and estimated cost of services.

Sentara Norfolk General also serves as the primary teaching hospital for undergraduate and graduate education for the adjacent Eastern Virginia Medical School.
