JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes such as recruitment, onboarding and performance management. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Â The following duties are typical for this position. Incumbents may not perform all the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
- Prepares job announcements and coordinates the posting on company websites, newspapers, schools, military bases, Virginia Employment Commission and with other employment contacts.Â
- Reviews applications for employment.Â
- Proctors employment testing.
- Prepares interview folders, schedules interviews and conducts pre-employment background checks.
- Conducts new hire orientations.
- Orders and maintains employees’ DMV driving records.Â
- Inputs and updates employee information in HRIS.
- Distributes employee performance evaluations and monitors the evaluation schedule.
- Coordinates pre-employment and annual physical exams for employees.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Prepares the Affirmative Action Plan spreadsheets.
- Provides support during employee events to include but not limited to open enrollment meetings, holiday luncheon, etc.
- Participate in job fairs and other employment outreach programs.Â
- Periodically audits the I-9 forms.
- Adhere to all Authority personnel policies and departmental guidelines.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.

EDUCATION/TRAINING:Â
- Minimum of one (1) year of business school.Â
- Associates degree or higher education preferred.
EXPERIENCE:Â
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Human Resources.Â
CERTIFICATIONS:Â
- Human Resources certification preferred.Â
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Â
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilities.Â
EQUIPMENT OPERATION:Â Desktop computer, phone system, fax, copier, laptop and overhead projector.Â
