Position Summary: 

Supports the Senior Manager of Accounting for the accounting of the Company’s Corporate Accounting operations in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Performs work with a high degree of latitude. Handles the most complex issues. Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group. Responsibilities include working closely with our tax, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and internal control departments to prepare accurate and timely financial statements.

Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Assist in the oversight of the monthly close process, including coordination of team tasks and deadlines and identifying areas for improvement
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, audit work papers, and other items as needed. Resolve accounting discrepancies and problems and assist others with resolving discrepancies and problems in their assigned areas.
  • Review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, work papers, and other items as needed prepared by staff accountants
  • Compile, manage, and review reports prepared by accounting staff (i.e. – financial statement fluctuation analysis)
  • Develop accounting process improvements, conversion support, and other duties as assigned
  • Participate where needed in the consolidation of world-wide financial statements to include journalizing eliminations
  • Coordinate the preparation of audit work papers and PCB (process control block) items; review work papers of other staff prior to submission to auditors
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and company defined financial controls are maintained for responsible areas
  • Manage, coordinate, or assist in special projects, as required

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent amount of experience required.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
  • 6+ years related experience required.
  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Must demonstrate intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Possess / develop working knowledge of the Company’s accounting and other systems.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to research tax and accounting information on the internet.
  • Must be able to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility.
  • Must be able to understand accounting guidance and principals to independently resolve accounting issues, make informed decisions, and provide recommendations to management with minimal guidance.
  • Required to work weekends and evenings if necessary.
