About Mind:

Mind Robotics is building Physical AI for real-world industrial deployment, starting with the factory floor. We believe the hardest problems in AI are solved when researchers and engineers are hands-on with the physical world every day - and we're looking for people who are passionate about robotics, value ownership, and are excited to tackle difficult problems. Join us if you want to move beyond digital intelligence and put intelligence into motion.

The Role

At Mind Robotics, we're building generalized physical AI — robotic systems capable of dexterous, adaptive, and reasoning-intensive work in real-world industrial environments. We're hiring Field Technicians to be the backbone of our data collection operation at the Rivian manufacturing facility in Normal, IL. This is a critical, hands-on role: you'll keep our camera and docking station network running across a live factory floor, making sure every shift starts clean and every station comes back in good shape.

What we need is someone reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an active industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain a station cluster. Set up, power, and recover hardware across your assigned stations each shift - making sure every camera is recording when it needs to be and every battery and drive is returned, charged, and ready to go again.

  • Monitor and respond in real time. Use our centralized dashboard to track station health across your cluster throughout the shift, and escalate issues to your Team Lead the moment something looks wrong.

  • Support operators on the floor. Be a reliable, approachable presence for Rivian operators - helping with camera fitting, docking procedures, and remote trigger usage so production never skips a beat.

  • Keep meticulous records. Log every hardware issue with station ID, timestamp, and a clear description. Your notes are what keep the broader team one step ahead of problems.

Qualifications

  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and takes ownership of their area

  • Comfortable with consumer electronics - phones, cameras, charging systems

  • Able to walk an active factory floor throughout a full shift

  • Clear communicator: you escalate issues fast and log them accurately

  • No prior tech experience required - we provide full training
