The OU Registrar Office works to bring in the next generation of Sooners. Our team operates from Norman as well as across the state, nation, and world. We provide support to incoming domestic and international freshman and transfer students as they navigate the college application and decision process. Additionally, we partner with parents, counselors, and communities in providing resources to students interested in higher education. Our goal is to build a vibrant, inclusive community on campus by recruiting students with diverse backgrounds, educational experiences, and involvement.

We're currently looking for a new team member in our Norman office to serve as a Senior Student Program Specialist.

Essential Duties:

  • Perform office duties in support of the Transcript Evaluation team and the Registrar’s Office.
  • Maintain files indicating student progress, letters of recommendations, transcripts, etc., as required.
  • Contribute daily to a collaborative, positive, and supportive work environment.
  • Follow all FERPA guidelines.
  • Identify problems, improvements, and errors to proactively raise these to the attention of appropriate management and propose solutions.
  • Provide clear and concise answers to student, faculty, staff, and third-party questions related to transcript evaluation through the Transcript Evaluation email and department phone.
  • Perform Credential Evaluation and post transfer coursework for all incoming degree-seeking and current domestic and international students, to include exercising judgment to determine course equivalencies.
  • Perform Credential Evaluation and post credits for prior learning.
  • Assist colleges and departments in determining course evaluations and equivalencies.
  • Assist the Admissions and Recruitment Team and the Transcript Evaluation Team with processing transfer transcripts for new degree-seeking transfer students as well as current OU students.
  • Act as  primary point of contact for undergraduate OU Online students’ transcript processing.
  • Facilitate the syllabus review process for departmental course equivalencies as primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Serve as ancillary support to the Senior Credential Evaluation Coordinator with Study Abroad credit evaluation.
  • Consult with Senior Credential Evaluation Coordinator and Assistant Registrar as needed.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.


Required Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED, AND:

  • 12 months of office/clerical experience.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions
  • General office skills such as phone, copying, faxing, filing, and handling mail

Certifications: None

Working Conditions:

Physical: Ability to engage in repetitive motion and communicate effectively.

Environmental: Standard office environment

Departmental Preferences:

  • Prior work experience at a university
  • OU experience as employee and/or student
