Job Description

The Modification Center Director serves as the entrepreneurial P&L leader for the commercial unitary modifications business in Norman, OK, overseeing product design, sales, ordering, execution, and shipping. Responsible for developing and delivering growth strategies for the business and supporting the success of individual team members.

Responsibilities:

Drive Business Results

  • Develop and execute business plans that enhance customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Manage forecasting, reporting, and financial performance for the product family.
  • Partner with factories and suppliers on product performance updates.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales on trade shows, training, and sales support.

Lead Through People & Communication

  • Build alignment and support before making key decisions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Assist in closing sales when needed and communicate strategic business priorities across the organization.

Ensure Market-Driven Strategy

  • Use market data, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to shape business strategy.
  • Monitor trends and future opportunities.
  • Establish networks within sales and industry analysts for ongoing competitive insights.

Guide Product Fit & Function

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of product technologies versus competitors.
  • Understand product applications and operational processes to drive business outcomes.
  • Recommend product/system solutions and provide feedback to product management.

Manage Multiple Priorities

  • Prioritize work based on business goals and customer impact.
  • Lead new product development initiatives.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 15+ years commercial HVAC equipment related experience in system design, application, product management, and field sales
  • 2+ years of leading teams and influencing cross-functional partners to achieve goals
  • Demonstrates the maturity and judgement to effectively prioritize tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to travel 20% within North America

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred
  • Demonstrable business management skills in a engineering or product management environment and must be technically savvy, possessing strong knowledge of field and business practices relating to the identified products
  • Experience with Financial Statements
  • Experience managing and inspiring a team of contributors as well as influencing others that are not direct reports to achieve business objectives.
