JOB FUNCTION: Under general supervision of the Head Start/Early Head Start Program Director, the Education Coordinator provides leadership and direction to ensure quality delivery of services in early childhood education as set forth in Head Start Performance Standards.

Education/ Experience

  • Master’s degree in early childhood education preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience such as a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in early childhood education/curriculum implementation.
  • experience in teaching, program administration and evaluation
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in supervision and administering early childhood or adolescent programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, problem solving, interpersonal and analytical skills required.
  • Knowledge and development of community resources, methods and practices of health and safety precautions, and providing structure for children and youth.
  • Computer literate.

 

Knowledge:

  • Must be computer literate and have accurate typing skills as well as the ability to operate a variety of office equipment;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal and analytical skills required;
  • Community resources, methods and practices of health and safety precautions, providing age-appropriate education services and facilitating family involvement in program services;
  • Ability to comply with Head Start Performance Standards.
