Departmental Overview

From the high school athlete who tears an ACL to the retiree who needs a knee replacement, the Ortho Central Ambulatory Surgery Center is here for each and every one of our patients. Our expert team includes four orthopedic surgeons, a sports medicine physician, bone health experts, physical therapists, and workers’ compensation specialists.

Our skilled providers can treat a wide range of orthopedic injuries including sports-related fractures, foot and ankle surgery, and hip, knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. The Ambulatory Surgery Center is open Monday through Friday to meet our patient’s needs


Job Summary

  • Screens patient and obtains pertinent information.
  • Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs. 
  • Assists the physician or advanced practitioner in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed.
  • Maintains the exam rooms and work environment.
  • Proper communication with appropriate clinic departments.
  • Satellite Clinic Operations
  • Clinic Preparation
  • Provides support to the clinic as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum one year experience in a clinical or physician office setting, emergency room, and/or a hospital setting that provides direct patient care with preference given to orthopedic clinic experience.
  • Excellent communication skills including phone calls, referrrals and electronic records are also required.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

 

Licensure/Certification

  • CNA or RMA preferred

Compensation/Benefits

  • $16.72-$27.30/hr depending on previous work experience.
