Monday thru Friday 8am-5pm

Position Overview:

This role supports the Engineered Products Group and its customers by providing technical support through the bid process and maintaining contact with the bid until it is awarded.  The position requires attention to detail to ensure that pricing is completed accurately, excellent organizational skills, and someone who is customer service oriented.  The position requires correspondence with the sales team, customers, and manufacturers.  The position will require extensive knowledge in all core product lines and be proficient in making equipment selections.  Must be strong in Microsoft applications and be able to work well with others in a fast-paced & high-volume environment.

 

Essential Functions:

  1. Develop general working knowledge of Chesapeake Systems, and the products, services, and solutions that we represent.
  2. Learn and apply internal processes and programs to maximize customer satisfaction and increase overall productivity.
  3. Work with estimating team to “take-off” jobs and compile a list of bidding opportunities using contractor’s requests, construction, and customer websites/FTP sites.  Transfer this information into our web-based bid calendar and shared document site.
  4. Receive, download, organize, and review all bid documents (narratives, plans, and specifications) issued by owners, architects, engineers, and contractors to prepare proposals and solutions in a timely manner and meet deadlines.
  5. Learn and use factory selection software to select, price, and provide the best equipment selection for each application based on the customers’ request and bid documents.
  6. Communicate and coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors for clarifications of bidding documents.
  7. Communicate and coordinate with sales team and other divisions to ensure that bids and quotes are prepared properly, and the entire Chesapeake Systems product offering is covered, specifically when basis of design.
  8. Make sure all bids are sent out on time with completeness to all bidding contractors.
  9. Coordinate with other various representative firms of the company’s product lines if necessary.
  10. Follow-up on all quotes to determine successful bidder. When a successful bidder is confirmed, coordinate internally to secure the project.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-related field is preferred but not required.

2+ years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project estimating or related work is preferred.

Proficient in Windows environment, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, TEAMS, Adobe, etc.

Collaborative attitude that thrives in a team-based environment while supporting the team as an individual contributor.

Excellent communication (verbal and written), coordination, and teamwork skills.

Must be able to work respectfully in a team environment.

Must be able to lift and move material(s) to 25 pounds.
