Are you a driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships, solving customer challenges, and winning new business? Chesapeake Systems is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to grow our Plumbing/HVAC business and develop strong customer partnerships.

You’ll manage an assigned territory, build your pipeline, meet with customers, provide tailored solutions, and work with industry-leading manufacturers to bring the right products and technology to each project. Built in book of business 

$65k + depending on experience

Position Overview:

 

The Outside Sales position will be focused in the Plumbing/HVAC industry and is expected to initiate contact with customers, provide tailored-fit proposals that will meet customer’s needs, and close these opportunities into sales. The Outside Sales representative's responsibilities include traveling assigned territories to directly meet with potential and current customers to discuss their requirements, provide product demonstrations, negotiate sales contracts, and inform them of new product releases and updates. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, excellent people skills, and the ability to handle issues in a “fast-paced environment”.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  1. Qualify prospects within assigned sales territory and build a consistent pipeline to meet sales goals.
  2. Quickly move prospects through the sales process by delivering outstanding consultative, sales, and customer experience.
  3. Update sales and customers databases with current information.
  4. Maintain, update, and educate customers on factory catalogs, software, and product developments.
  5. Regularly schedule educational seminars that introduce factory products, information, and new technology.
  6. Travel with factory employees when visiting.  This includes setting-up meetings, seminars, etc. prior to factory visits.
  7. Be informed on the latest industry developments by attending team meetings and training workshops.
  8. Learn and use factory software to select the best equipment for the project and price properly based on project specifics and market intel.
  9. Attend and become involved in industry related organizations (ASHRAE, ASPE, CASHE, NFPA, etc.).  Regular participation in a minimum of one organization is expected.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.

This position works in an office environment and must be able to operate standard office equipment.

Must be able to provide own transportation, so that you can travel to and from jobsites and customer visits on short notice.

Must be able to use a computer to access, input, and retrieve information, including all factory software including the Microsoft Office suite of software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Must be able to work respectfully in a team environment.

Must be able to move files and materials generally weighing up to 25 pounds.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
