Driver - 2nd Shift

Classification:

  • Non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)

Reports To:

  • Lead Driver

JD Review Date:

  • June 2024

Job Summary/Objective: The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transport of finished goods and raw materials between Bake’n Joy facilities and third-party locations. Duties include picking up goods and materials, securing loads, verifying load accuracy, and ensuring proper procedures during loading and transport. The role requires punctual delivery as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete daily pre-trip, in-trip, and end-of-day asset inspections through the GPS system.
  • Document daily drive times and hours through the GPS system.
  • Adhere to daily hours of service regulations.
  • Follow proper procedures for backing in and hauling loads away from loading docks.
  • Verify all associated paperwork for accuracy.

  • Ability to complete daily reports clearly and visibly.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily assignments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily operates in a vehicle environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels depending on the delivery location.

Physical Demands:

  • Must undergo D.O.T. physical and substance screening upon hire and as required by law.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate and control equipment.

Position Type:

  • Full-Time

Work Hours:

  • Monday - Friday: 1:00pm - 9:30pm (Saturday's if needed)
  • Varying shifts and overtime may occur.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours, including early or extended hours as needed.

Travel:

  • Local travel between BnJ facilities and third-party locations.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Active and up-to-date CDL commercial license.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • 1-3 years of CDL driving experience.
  • Basic operation skills for material handling equipment (electric pallet jacks or manual hand jacks).

Compensation:

The typical starting salary range for this position is $28.50 - $31.50 / hour. Several factors, including skills, experience, education, certifications, and the location of the job will determine the actual pay offered. The salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for associates in these positions. 

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
