Scope of PositionĀ 
As a Staff Software Engineer, you’llown end-to-end delivery for critical parts of the systems we’re developing. This is a hands-on role; you’ll guide design decisions and practices, build and deliver production code, uphold high engineering standards, and directly influence our technical strategy. You’ll also be expected to set the tone for how we build APIs, think about system boundaries, and ship large-scale features to our customers.Ā Ā

This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering, Software Solutions and collaborates cross-functionally across engineering (software + hardware), product, and design.Ā 

Ā 

Primary Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesĀ 

  • Lead the design and development of critical platform components, from concept through deployment.Ā 

  • Lead by example through active coding, design reviews, and architecture discussions.Ā 

  • Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail to peers and stakeholdersĀ 

  • Understand industry and company-wide trends to help assess and develop new technologiesĀ 

  • Drive architectural decisions for scalable, reliable cloud services and APIs.Ā 

  • Define and promote engineering best practices around API design, observability, and performance.Ā 

  • Craft an impactful technical roadmap by collecting feedback and synthesizing requirements across multiple teams.Ā 

  • Partner with product managers, hardware teams, and other engineers to create customer products and features.Ā 

  • Lead long term technical vision and roadmap for large cross-team efforts.Ā 

  • Partner closely with the platform engineering team to build and scale backend services.Ā

RequiredĀ QualificationsĀ 

  • 7+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years in a senior roleĀ 

  • You’ve built and shipped reliable, scalable software using C#, TypeScript, or Python, and you’re comfortable working with containerized workloads and tools like Docker and Kubernetes.Ā 

  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and microservices.Ā 

  • An API-first mindset with strong instincts around system boundaries and modular design.Ā 

  • Ability to lead by example—writing clean, maintainable code and mentoring others.Ā 

  • Strong communication skills and a bias toward collaboration, clarity, and execution.Ā

Preferred QualificationsĀ 

  • Proven track record of delivering software at scale—whether launching new products from scratch or scaling existing platforms to millions of users.Ā 

  • Led the architecture and evolution of large-scale platforms or services.Ā 

  • Experience with IoTĀ

Pay RangeĀ Ā 

The expected salary range for this position isĀ $145-165kĀ yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
