Description
This position is responsible for performing mechanical repair and improvement to existing or new equipment, facilities, and systems.Â
Duties & Responsibilities
- Adhere to plant safety requirements and plant policies.  Â
- Adhere to all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) requirements.  Â
- Perform maintenance and construction tasks as assigned.  Â
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems.  Â
- Perform housekeeping tasks.  Â
- Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime.  Â
- Report and investigate accidents and incidents to supervisor.  Â
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.  Â
Analytical Ability/Problem Solving/Technical skillsÂ
- Good verbal and written communication abilities and good analytical abilities.Â
- Troubleshooting skills.Â
- Ability to select and use mechanical tools.Â
- Planning, Scheduling, and prioritizing skills.Â
- Ability to work overtime as needed.Â
Level of Supervision NeededÂ
- Â Ability to work proactively with supervisory direction.Â
Requirements
Education and/or Experience Â
- High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent.Â
- 2 years of general maintenance experience required.Â
- Technical training in areas of electrical, mechanical and other related fields preferred.Â
Safety/Essential FunctionsÂ
- Must be capable of lifting containers weighing up to 50 pounds.Â
- Must be able to evacuate the plant, reporting to appropriate assigned muster point, in the event of an emergency or drill.Â
- Must be capable of working in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).Â
- Must be able to use equipment within its design limits (weight limit on a ladder, for example).Â
- Must be able to work from heights (including elevated platform, scaffolds, lifts and ladders).Â
- Must be able to work in an environment where chemical odors may exist at permissible threshold limits of exposure.Â
- Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders.Â
- Must be able to safely handle hazardous chemicals on a regular basis.Â
- Must be able to wear a respirator or an air hood.Â
- Must be able to use all available or assigned personal protective equipment and tools.Â
- Must be able to use readily available fall protection equipment (current standard fall protection and rescue equipment is rated at 310 pounds).Â
- Must be able to use equipment within its design limits (weight limit on a ladder, for example). Â
