Job Description 

The Certified HVAC Technician will support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems in a dynamic facilities environment. This position plays an important role in maintaining comfortable, safe, and efficient building operations by ensuring HVAC equipment performs reliably and meets operational requirements.

The ideal candidate possesses hands-on HVAC experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to providing high-quality service while supporting preventive maintenance and facility operations programs.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Install, maintain, inspect, and repair HVAC and refrigeration equipment and associated components. 
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heating, cooling, ventilation, and air distribution systems. 
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective repairs to restore system performance. 
  • Monitor HVAC system operation and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and equipment longevity. 
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related HVAC issues. 
  • Inspect HVAC equipment and ensure compliance with applicable codes, safety standards, and manufacturer requirements. 
  • Complete maintenance documentation, service reports, and work order records accurately and timely. 
  • Support equipment replacements, facility upgrades, and HVAC improvement projects. 
  • Assist with emergency maintenance calls and respond to facility service requests as needed. 
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams, facility personnel, and contractors to support overall building operations.


Minimum Qualifications 

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Top Secret Clearance Required 
  • At least 2 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, repair, or related engineering services. 
  • EPA Section 608 Certification required.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Technical training certificate in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical systems, or a related field.
  • Current annual continuing education certificates related to HVAC systems, refrigeration, controls, or building maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, refrigeration systems, air distribution systems, controls, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Required Certifications 

EPA Section 608 Certification required.
