Job Title: Forklift Operator
Job Hours (Shift): 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift based on operational needs
Position Summary:
The Forklift Operator role is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks to support material movement within a fast-paced automotive logistics and production environment. This position ensures the timely delivery of parts to the assembly line, accurate inventory handling, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate sit-down forklift equipment safely and efficiently in a production environment
- Â Pick automotive parts and deliver materials to the assembly line to support production flow
- Load and unload materials from trucks, racks, and staging areas
- Move, stack, and stage materials according to operational requirements and production schedules
- Perform daily forklift inspections and report any safety or maintenance concerns
- Accurately scan and track inventory movements using warehouse systems or RF scanners
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and standard operating processes
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas at all times
- Support inventory counts, audits, and additional warehouse tasks as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1 year of sit-down forklift experience within the last year required
- Proven ability to safely operate sit-down forklift equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to follow instructions and directions from supervisors and management
- Basic computer or RF scanner experience preferred
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, and weekends as required
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a warehouse or automotive production environment with exposure to moving equipment and assembly operations
- Must be able to stand and work on foot for 8 to 10 hours per shift
- Frequent lifting, bending, walking, and reaching throughout the shift
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and industrial conditions
- Required use of Personal Protective Equipment, including steel-toe shoes or boots and safety glasses at all times on the shop floor
