The Switchboard Engineer II is responsible for Designing Low Voltage Switchboards and Panelboards. This role requires great attention to detail with a preference for self-starting mentality. All products must be designed using applicable safety standards & regulations (National Electric Code, Underwriters, Laboratories, etc). 


The Engineer will also be responsible for mentoring and leading other team members as needed. 


Primary Job Responsibilities:  

  • Design 3D sheet metal parts with flat patterns
  • Complete 3D Assemblies (150+ Item BOM)
  • Follow design life cycle states and design standards
  • Create wiring diagrams using PLCs, breaker accessories, relays, contractors, power supplies, etc. 
  • Create and understand 2D Front View, One-Line/Single-Line and Layout drawings using CAD Software
  • Ensure clear communication between Engineering, Manufacturing and other key stakeholders. 
  • Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from clients and develop design solutions
  • Ensure clear communication with suppliers/vendors on an as-needed basis

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar
  • 4 - 8 years of professional experience (working for UL891 OEM or Equivalent)
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk Suite preferred)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent Oral & Written Communication Skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with UL891, UL67, UL508A or UL1558
  • Experience reading/understanding National Electric Code
  • Experience sizing conductors and OCPDs
  • Experience with Control Circuits and Logic
