Your Opportunity
Stantec has an opportunity for an entry level or qualified Civil Engineer-in-Training to join our multidisciplinary Community Development practice in Charleston, SC. This position offers the opportunity to engage in diverse projects across various sectors, including industrial, residential, public and commercial. In this role, you'll work on a wide range of project types and sizes, allowing you to perform essential engineering and project functions.Â
Your Key Responsibilities
- Understand project budgets, quality control, and adherence to project schedules. Coordinate with the technical lead regularly to verify status is on track.
- Work with the project team to develop construction drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates for multi-disciplined vertical construction projects.
- Preform civil design computations and/or modeling using Microsoft Excel, HydroCAD, ICPR, and other design tools under the direction of experienced team members.
- Serve as a member of the technical design team on civil/site projects requiring geometric site layout, profiles, stormwater management, drainage, grading, water and sanitary sewer utilities, and erosion and sedimentation control.
- Collaborate with senior staff in the execution of projects and the development of business opportunities.
- Work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to successfully achieve group goals.
- Meet quality control/quality assurance requirements of Stantec’s project management framework.
- Perform calculations to analyze and design individual components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.
- Perform field work as required
