Position Overview

We are seeking an Fresh Flower Buyer/Warehouse Associate to join our leadership team. This individual will purchase fresh flowers, as well as assist in our Warehouse division, with a focus on contributing to the continued growth and success of our company. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, values collaboration, and brings strong technical expertise to the table.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase flowers & hardgoods for retail and central locations 
  • Travel to learn about and purchase flowers, as needed.  Locations could include: Bogota, Miami, Ecuador, Canada
  • Help ensure the correct ordering procedures are followed, as well as the proper unpacking, care and handling of all products received in the distribution center.
  • Participate in the timely communication, delivery, and invoicing to the retail stores.
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly assistance with (but not limited to): payables, entering orders, invoicing retail locations, EOM procedures, and system maintenance
  • Help control “waste” of product through proper ordering, handling, dating, and rotation procedures.
  • Help control costs by keeping inventory at prescribed levels, without creating backorder problems for our retail locations.
  • Assist with the unloading, unpacking, and storage of incoming product – in addition to pulling orders for the retail locations, as needed.
  • Ensure top quality merchandise is delivered to the retail locations by inspecting incoming and departing products/shipments.
  • Provide information for monthly manager’s meetings, as needed.
  • Other periodic duties that may be unique or specific to the success of the Wholesale Distribution Center, as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED.  Additional education a plus.
  • Related experience or education preferred in purchasing/procurement
  • Strong/relevant experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Good Mathematical skills.
  • Able to handle confidential information and detailed reports
  • Able to make decisions and communicate them effectively
  • Valid drivers' license and passport, as well as the use of personal transportation is preferred
