About the Role:

The Large Lift Heavy Equipment Operator plays a critical role by safely and efficiently operating heavy machinery designed for lifting and moving large materials. This position requires precision and expertise to handle equipment such as forklifts, and other heavy lifting devices to support various operational tasks including loading, unloading, and transporting heavy goods and materials. The operator ensures that all lifting activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards to prevent accidents and damage to equipment or property. Collaboration with site supervisors and team members is essential to coordinate lifting operations and maintain workflow efficiency. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience operating heavy lifting equipment in agriculture, forestry, or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret load charts, safety manuals, and operational guidelines.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in outdoor environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with specialized lifting equipment used in forestry or agricultural settings.
  • Familiarity with GPS or other technological tools used for equipment positioning and load management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in diverse weather conditions and challenging terrains.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate large lifting equipment such as forklifts, and hoists to move heavy materials safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and team members to plan and execute lifting tasks according to project requirements and safety protocols.
  • Monitor load weights and balance to prevent equipment overload and ensure stability during lifting operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents or irregularities encountered during operations.

Skills:
