We are celebrating our over 100 years of service and are very proud of our history! We are looking for a dynamic Assistant Director of Camping. The annual rate of pay is $40,000. POSITION-Assistant Director, Camping and Recreation The Assistant Director, Camping and Recreation is responsible for: 1. overseeing the development, planning, marketing and implementation of the military children's programs and residential camping 2. supervising staff and campers at camp and 3. facilitating the inclusion of all participants. QUALIFICATIONS-Assistant Director, Camping and Recreation: Bachelors degree required. (Recreation/Therapeutic Recreation, or equivalent, preferred.) First Aid/CPR/AED certification required (or required to be obtained within the first three month prior to operation of the first program.) Prior experience with behavior management required. Prior experience working in recreation programs and individuals with disabilities preferred. Current valid Pennsylvania drivers license and acceptable driving record obtained through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation required. Acceptable Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse History and FBI Clearance required. Passing of physical examination and TB required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES-Assistant Director, Camping and Recreation include: Directs Programs: 1. Plan, implement and oversee the military childrens and residential camps. Assure they reflect the needs of both the region and the clients. Establish rapport with clients, their families and community groups. 2. Analyze program content and activities. Assess and evaluate outcomes (i.e., client numbers, budget and client surveys.) Make recommendations for future programming, operation and procedures. Supervision: 1. Recruit, hire and supervise staff and volunteers. Assure staffing pattern meets the need and productivity expectations for each program/activity. 2. Develop and implement TR staff trainings in conjunction with the Director. Administration 1. Develop and disseminate all residential camp and military program materials and booklets. 2. Develop relationships in the community in order to provide programs and market services to other agencies. Finance and Marketing 1. Develop and adhere to department budget for assigned programs on an annual basis. Oversee all billing and payments for such programs, knowing the contracts in detail. 2. Market programs and participate in development initiatives. Assist in identifying and obtaining grants and oversees awards. Maintain all necessary records for fiscal department and for funders.
