Job DetailsJob Location: Connecticut Container Corp L22 - North Haven, CT 06473Controller Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in accounting, financial management, and regulatory compliance, with a strong understanding of various accounting standards and systems. This role is critical in ensuring accurate internal reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making within a dynamic environment. Duties Manage and oversee all accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with internal controls, tax and other regulatory requirements related to corporate accounting. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy and completeness of financial data. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes while ensuring timely submission of financial statements. Support budgeting processes, forecasting activities, and financial planning initiatives. Manage treasury activities and support processes to optimize liquidity. Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity. Utilize accounting software such as Business Central, other financial management tools for accurate record-keeping. Collaborate with external auditors during audits and prepare regulatory reports as required. Provide technical accounting guidance on accounting changes and propose changes Support continuous improvement of accounting processes through automation and implementation of best practices. QualificationsRequirements Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting (big 4 is a plus) with a focus on financial reporting and compliance. Strong knowledge of GAAP Proficiency in accounting software such as Business Central, or similar platforms. Demonstrated expertise in managing the closing process, account reconciliation, financial analysis, treasury, and internal reporting. Background in, process documentation, identifying root causes and effectively communicating process improvement. Excellent understanding of technical accounting concepts including general ledger reconciliation and account analysis. Ability to interpret complex financial data with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Knowledge of internal controls is a plus.
