Job DetailsJob Location: Mill Road School - North Haven, CT 06473Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $24.49 - $27.85 HourlyACES Mill Road School is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and dependable full-time Teacher Assistant/Driver to support students in our K–8 special education program. Our school serves students with a wide range of social, emotional, behavioral, and learning needs in a trauma-informed, highly collaborative environment. The successful candidate will provide classroom support under the direction of certified staff while also safely transporting students to and from school and community-based learning experiences. Responsibilities include: Support students individually and in small groups with academic, behavioral, and social-emotional learning. Assist teachers in implementing instructional activities and behavior support plans. Foster positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations and a safe, supportive learning environment. Support students with transitions, daily routines, and classroom organization. Safely transport students using school vehicles while maintaining professionalism and ensuring student safety at all times. Complete required transportation documentation and communicate effectively with school staff regarding student needs. Work collaboratively with the team. Maintain confidentiality and follow all ACES policies and procedures. Ā  QualificationsQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelorsĀ degree preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to meet ACES driver requirements. Experience working with children, preferably students with special education needs. Knowledge of or willingness to learn positive behavior management strategies and trauma-informed practices. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Demonstrates creativity, initiative, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting student success.
