Sonic Summary

info
  • REGENT is seeking an experienced Technician Supervisor to lead a multidisciplinary team in R&D builds and vehicle integration for their innovative Seaglider project.
  • The role involves team leadership, overseeing electromechanical system assembly, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Candidates should have hands-on experience in electromechanical environments and a strong background in assembling and troubleshooting complex systems.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required, along with proficiency in tools like Jira and Microsoft Office.
  • The salary for this position is competitive, reflecting the expertise and leadership required to drive the company's mission forward.

At REGENT, we’re on a mission to revolutionize regional transportation between coastal cities. We're not just building vehicles, we're creating a new category of transportation: the Seaglider. These groundbreaking wing-in-ground-effect craft travel just above the water’s surface, combining the speed of an airplane with the low operating costs of a boat. Capable of 180 miles at 180 mph on today's battery tech (and up to 400 miles with next-gen batteries), Seagliders will unlock fast, affordable, and sustainable coastal transit for passengers and cargo - connecting cities, islands, and communities like never before.

Backed by leading investors and powered by a team of passionate, forward-thinking engineers, builders, and operators, we’re now scaling from a breakthrough prototype to full production - and building the team to make it happen.

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technician Supervisor to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting R&D builds, special projects, and early vehicle integration. This is not a traditional production role—this team operates where designs are still evolving, processes are being defined, and rapid iteration is critical.

You will lead technicians through complex, first-of-their-kind builds while partnering closely with engineering to bring concepts into reality. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical depth, and the ability to create structure in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of electromechanical technicians supporting prototype builds, integration, and testing. Manage staffing, workload balancing, and scheduling across multiple concurrent R&D and special projects. Drive performance management, training, and professional development to elevate team capability. Foster a culture of accountability, craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • R&D Build & Integration Execution: Oversee and contribute to the assembly, installation, and integration of complex electromechanical systems, including propulsion, actuation, sensors, harnessing, and control systems. Lead execution of one-off builds, experimental configurations, and early production-intent systems. Translate evolving engineering designs into executable build plans, even when processes are not yet fully defined. Provide real-time feedback to engineering on design for manufacturability, serviceability, and integration challenges.

  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Lead system-level troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and controls domains. Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions, especially in time-critical test or integration scenarios. Establish structured approaches to debugging in a fast-paced prototyping environment.

  • Testing & Validation: Ensure safe operation of test equipment and compliance with electrical and mechanical safety standards. Partner with engineering to capture data, document findings, and feed learnings back into design iterations.

  • Process Development & Operational Excellence: Develop and refine build processes, tooling, and workflows suited for R&D and low-volume environments. Introduce appropriate levels of rigor (documentation, quality checks, standard work) without slowing innovation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency. Monitor labor utilization, overtime, and team performance.

  • Safety & Quality: Maintain high standards for safety and workmanship in environments involving high-voltage systems, moving machinery, and prototype hardware. Partner with safety teams to conduct hazard analyses and implement best practices. Ensure adherence to applicable standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620) where appropriate.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the primary interface between technician teams and engineering (mechanical, electrical, systems, and test). Communicate priorities, risks, and progress clearly to stakeholders.Support program execution by aligning team output with broader company milestones.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in electromechanical build, integration, or test environments. Ability to leading or supervising technical teams.

  • Strong background in assembling and troubleshooting complex systems (motors, actuators, sensors, wiring, structural assemblies).

  • Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment (multimeters, torque wrenches, calipers), and standard assembly practices. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

  • Experience operating in fast-paced, low-process, or R&D-driven environments. Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge engineering and hands-on execution teams.

  • Proficiency with Jira and Microsoft Office or similar tools for planning, tracking, and reporting.

  • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
