Job DetailsJob Location: North Little Rock, AR 72118JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Clinic Manager, the Appointment Scheduler is responsible for managing patient scheduling, handling inbound and outbound communications, and ensuring efficient patient flow through the clinic. Acts as a primary point of contact for patients, coordinating appointments, verifying basic information, and delivering exceptional customer service that promotes a welcoming and organized environment.    Supervisory Responsibilities: None    Safety Sensitive Role:  No   Duties/Responsibilities: Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments in accordance with provider schedules and clinic guidelines. Answer multi-line phones, direct calls appropriately, take accurate messages, and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner. Verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and required referral documentation at the time of scheduling. Contact patients to confirm upcoming appointments and manage recall or waitlist systems as directed. Greet incoming patients and visitors, verifying check-in status and notifying clinical staff of arrivals. Collect co-pays, coinsurance, and outstanding balances at the time of scheduling or check-in, balancing daily collections accurately. Escalate non-routine scheduling conflicts, patient complaints, or urgent medical concerns immediately to the practice manager or clinical staff. Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are strictly maintained in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by the practice manager or healthcare provider(s). QualificationsEducation and Experience:  High school diploma or equivalent required.   1 - 3+ years of experience in customer service, medical receptionist, or scheduling role preferred. Familiarity with medical practice management applications and basic insurance guidelines. Training and competency in assigned administrative procedures and office equipment.   Physical Requirements:   Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.  May require prolonged periods of standing, moving, and bending.
