Join the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) team, where you'll contribute to groundbreaking innovations! We are seeking applicants for an Electrical Engineering Assistantto join our Strategic Military Space Division.

We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated student to work alongside our world class Engineers developing, assembling, and testing mission hardware. Our students are an integral part of the development team and support project reviews, deliveries, and integration with the hope of becoming full-time employees upon graduation, depending on funding, performance, and program needs.

The selected candidate must be able to work as part of larger electronics teams, both internal and external to the SDL organization. You will need to own all aspects of your assigned responsibility alongside your mentor.

The Strategic & Military Space Division delivers advanced satellite and sensor systems that support the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. Our division is a key component of national security, providing technological solutions and expert mission support. Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a US citizen, lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US
  • Must be currently enrolled at Utah State University majoring in a related field (i.e., electrical engineering)
  • Must have at least one year of school remaining
  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours per week during semesters and up to 40 hours per week during breaks and have the ability to make and maintain accountability to a work schedule
  • Must be able to work effectively, both independently and as a team member
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal


Student Scholar Program: SDL provides unique opportunities for student employees to develop real-world experience and knowledge beyond the classroom through our Student Scholar Program. This program offers monthly technical workshops, outreach activities, and academic stipends to eligible student employees.
