Cooperates with co-workers and follows directions given by licensed nurses.   Essential Job Functions: Assures residents’ privacy and dignity while providing care: Identifies residents before providing care in accordance with their NSA Addresses residents by their name of choice when providing care Interacts with residents in a warm, personal manner and provides a calm environment: Provides opportunities for the residents to talk, and listens attentively Warmly greets residents upon admission Introduces new residents to staff and other residents as appropriate Assures the residents are clean and comfortable at all times: Assists the residents in feeding, dressing, and toileting as necessary Assists residents in ambulating and transferring as necessary: Ambulates, transfers, and applies adaptive equipment according to NSA Assists residents to activities and meals in a timely manner Assists with activities of daily living as necessary Provides nursing care for residents within scope of training and as directed by licensed nurses: Applies dressings and treatments and performs other duties as directed by licensed nurses Assist lab personnel as needed Takes vital signs when needed Provides nutrition and hydration to promote well-being of residents Provided fresh water and other fluids frequently and regularly Assist in preparing and serving food trays and snacks as needed Communicates residents’ care needs with peers and supervisors: Obtains pertinent information regarding residents’ care at the start of the shift Is knowledgeable of NSA for each resident Promptly reports changes in residents’ conditions to licensed nurse Observes and record residents’ conditions and/or any incidents or accident: Records all information regarding care of residents in accordance with federal, state and facility polices Assists in completing incident and accident forms in accordance with federal, state, and facility polices Assist maintaining an organized and clean area for residents and co-workers: Provides laundry service per schedule for all residents Performs housecleaning duties as directed Maintains clean and organized work area and equipment Observes all infection control polices according to federal, state, and facility polices Assist in the admission process: As directed by licensed nurses Qualifications and Experience: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older. Must be Certified Medication Aide in Kansas.   Physical Requirements: Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
