We’re searching for a part-time detail-oriented Field Services Technician II to join our team in Reading, PA.

In this role, you’ll perform regulated environmental sampling and specialized field operations, including independent execution of sampling programs and operation of composite sampling equipment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, sample integrity, and seamless coordination between field and laboratory teams while exercising sound judgment in the field.



PLEASE NOTE: This is a part-time position following a Thursday - Sunday schedule, consisting of approximately 7 hours per day and 28 hours per week, with shifts beginning in the morning.



What You’ll Do

  • Perform regulated environmental sampling and sample collection, in accordance with approved methods and regulatory requirements
  • Travel to and from client sites to pick up and deliver samples following assigned routes and schedules
  • Maintain proper sample custody, integrity, and regulatory holding times during transport
  • Deploy, retrieve, program, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain composite sampling equipment
  • Verify composite sampler operation and document maintenance, corrective actions, and field activities
  • Conduct field inspections at water treatment facilities, well sites, distribution systems, and storage locations
  • Perform required field measurements, observations, and documentation
  • Independently identify and resolve routine sampling or equipment issues; escalate non-routine concerns as needed
  • Complete chain-of-custody records and required field and electronic documentation accurately
  • Perform in-house sample triage, including verification of containers, preservation, labeling, and documentation
  • Prepare, stage, and replenish sample kits, coolers, and field supplies
  • Interact professionally and courteously with clients during field activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Vocational training in a related technical field preferred
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in field services, regulated sampling, warehouse, or related technical or labor roles
  • Familiarity with field sampling techniques and equipment operation strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record


Work Schedule & Requirements

  • Part-time, field-based position
  • Thursday - Sunday schedule, approximately 7 hours daily (28 hours weekly), with shifts beginning in the morning
  • Flexibility to work outside of regularly scheduled hours as operational needs require
  • Ability to safely operate a company vehicle for extended periods throughout the workday in varying weather conditions and terrain
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions
  • Regular exposure to environmental elements, chemicals, uneven terrain, and strong or unpleasant odors, including wastewater and industrial materials
