Opportunity Overview
Â
As an Optical Systems Engineer, you will support the development of advanced optical and optoelectronic systems, contributing across system design, laboratory validation, and product integration. This role offers hands‑on exposure to real‑world engineering challenges while collaborating with cross‑functional teams from concept through testing and qualification.

- Support the design and analysis of optical systems, including lenses, illumination, detectors, lasers, and optomechanical components
- Perform hands‑on laboratory work, including optical alignment, characterization, and troubleshooting of prototype systems
- Assist with system modeling and performance analysis using optical simulation and data analysis tools
- Execute engineering experiments, including data collection, analysis, and documentation of results
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support system integration, debugging, and product development
- Contribute to verification, validation, and qualification activities for optical system performance

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- Foundational experience with optical systems, photonics, or optoelectronic devices through coursework, research, or internships
- Hands‑on laboratory experience with optical alignment, measurement, and experimental data collection
- Basic understanding of optical principles such as imaging, diffraction, polarization, and radiometry
- Familiarity with optical design, simulation, or data analysis tools (e.g., Zemax, Code V, MATLAB, Python)
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environment

Compensation:
The base salary range for this role is $111,300 - $178,200. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.Â

Incentive Plan:Â This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
