Position Responsibilities:
Support and guide installation of robotic technologies at Amazon fulfillment centers. Develop detailed knowledge of the operation of robotic systems and guide installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of these systems both on site and remotely. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including third-party installers, contracted engineers, construction, hardware, software, and IT to ensure successful robotics deployments. Identify and solve problems independently during deployments while driving continuous improvement initiatives to prevent recurrences. Develop and modify process documentation for robotics systems, particularly when supporting new products in various phases of the lifecycle. Monitor robotics system performance and oversee critical deployment milestones including quality hand-off, live order testing, site acceptance testing, and operational readiness. The scopes vary significantly in length and include heavy travel to both live warehouses and new construction sites. Generate and implement continuous improvement ideas around their work-scopes and lead teams of other engineers on projects.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering or a related field and three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have three years of experience in the following skill(s): (1) working on mechanical, electrical, IT networked, or software systems. Must have two years of experience in the following skill(s): (1) technical drawings or reading CAD models to resolve on-site clash issues using 3D clash detection reports; (2) and working in a field setting including construction, manufacturing, or warehouse environment. Must have one year of experience in the following skill(s): (1) troubleshooting robotics systems or other complex mechanical-electrical or networked systems to resolve escalations including quality hand-off, live order testing, site acceptance testing, operational readiness testing, and monitoring system performance; (2) and experience with business intelligence, data visualization, and reporting tools (e.g. Tableau). Domestic and/or international travel up to 75% to perform role responsibilities may be required.
