Job Summary
Â
The Automatic Screw Machine Operator – Hydromat is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Hydromat rotary transfer machines to produce precision-machined parts that meet quality and production standards. This role ensures efficient machine performance through proper setup, tool changes, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting, while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The operator inspects finished parts, documents production accurately, and collaborates effectively with supervisors, maintenance, quality, engineering, and tool room personnel.

Essential Functions
Â
- Set up and operate automatic screw machinery, specifically Hydromat rotary transfer machines.
- Monitor equipment and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality, accuracy, and productivity.
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and basic troubleshooting of machine operations.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and records.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure proper machine setup and part production.
- Communicate effectively with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues and improve processes.

- Respond promptly and demonstrate efficiency in all assigned tasks.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with supervisors regarding production status and concerns.
- Coordinate with the tool room to obtain necessary support and resources.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team and operational goals.

Qualifications
Â
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience; trade school or technical certificate is a plus.
- Experience operating or setting up automatic screw machines, preferably Hydromat rotary transfer machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Team-oriented with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to advanced manufacturing equipment and processes.
