Job Purpose 

Contribute to the execution and achievement of established financial goals; responsible development and growth of existing accounts, driving increased market share within assigned territory.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive) 

An individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with assigned customer base, including nationalaccounts,perform research, and prepare quotes and information for customers. 

  • Work to ensuresatisfaction with MRCGlobalproducts and services at all times. 

  • Acquire and utilizeknowledge of customer accounts within assigned territory, including technical requirements, production volume and schedules, targeted pricing, applicable contract requirements, and competitive analysis. 

  • Contact existing and potential customersto sell products and services, ensure customer satisfaction with existing products, and expand the customer base. 

  • Grow existing accounts through execution of a proactive sales plan with initiativesto include focus on lost & declining business in the existing customer base. 

  • Achieve maximum profitability by meeting or exceeding gross margin goals througheffective negotiation. 

  • Research and develop information on new projects. 

  • Negotiate with vendors and coordinate efforts with Supply Chain groups for the best product prices. 

  • Work withBranch/Regional management and National Accountteam to develop strategic territory business plans, assist with proposals, contract research and negotiation, and implementation ofsales strategies to achieve sales growth. 

  • Identify and communicate work in process, threats, opportunities, and related market trends as appropriate. 

  • Drive effective partnership with the branch team, communicate to deepen understanding of customer business processes, buying procedures, and expectations for service. 

  • Partner with the branch and other internal resources to investigate and resolve all customer complaints promptly.

  • Evaluate the sourceof the problem and follow to resolution. 

  • Perform related administrative functions in accordance with MRCGlobalprocedures to include quotations, order placement, delivery confirmation, processing changes and returns, and responding to messages and inquiries. 

  • Attend branch meetings, share information, instill vision, and create enthusiasm to achieve goals. 

  • Work with the branch warehouse to achieve delivery performance goals, ensure orders are filled as promised, and keep customers informed of order status. 

  • Advocate and engage in the promotion and maintenance of safety initiatives. 

  • Exercise care in all activities and demonstrate safety leadership.

  • Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.

  • Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately. 

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned. 

 

Education, Experience & Ability Requirements 

Any combination of requirementsthat provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilitieswill be considered. 

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) and additional related training.

  • Any combination of three (3)or more years in customer service, inside sales and/or warehouse services in a position with increasing responsibility, to include demonstrated sales leadership/supervisory experience. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of PVF materials and ability to understand the scope of MRC Global services to includepricing, supply, and contract terms. 

  • Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications. 

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and promote ideas and transfer detailedknowledge to others.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groupsituations. 

  • Willingness and ability to be on call as needed to provide 24-hour service to customers. 

  • Willingness and ability to travel within and outside the branch service area, with occasional overnight stays. 

  • Valid Driver’s license with the ability to meet the MRC Global vehicle policy. 

Additional Qualifications 

  • Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status. 

  • Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries. 

  • Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines and expectations, including Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
