The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating daily manufacturing operations while driving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and employee engagement. This position supervises production employees engaged in die cutting, laminating, assembly, and related manufacturing processes for automotive components. The Production Supervisor fosters a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while ensuring customer requirements, production schedules, and operational goals are consistently achieved.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives.
  • Conduct daily Gemba huddles focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP).
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production activities to meet customer schedules and on-time delivery commitments.
  • Optimize labor utilization by adjusting staffing, workflow, and production priorities to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensure all manufacturing operations are performed in accordance with established work instructions, quality standards, and customer specifications.
  • Promote and enforce all company safety policies while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
  • Monitor and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve operational performance and reduce waste.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, and Customer Service to resolve production issues and support customer requirements.
  • Train, mentor, and develop employees through coaching, cross-training, and performance feedback.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address attendance, performance, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate production records, labor reporting, shift documentation, and inventory transactions.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Support new product launches, engineering changes, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business Management, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of production metrics, manufacturing processes, and operational performance indicators.
  • Experience working within an ISO 9001:2015 quality management system; automotive manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent lifting of up to 30 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, machine noise, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
