Position Summary

The Injection Molding Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic components in accordance with production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. The operator performs routine inspections, packages finished products, and supports efficient manufacturing operations. We have multiple positions open on 2nd shift (3pm to 11pm) and 3rd shift (11pm to 7am). 

Responsibilities:

  • Operate injection molding machines safely and efficiently. 
  • Monitor machine operation and identify abnormalities or equipment issues. 
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of molded parts according to quality standards. 
  • Trim, deburr, and perform secondary operations as required. 
  • Package finished products according to customer specifications and work instructions. 
  • Record production data, scrap, downtime, and quality information accurately. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles. 
  • Perform basic machine start-up, shutdown, and material loading as directed. 
  • Assist with mold changes and machine setup as assigned. 
  • Notify supervisors or technicians of quality concerns, machine malfunctions, or safety hazards. 
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Meet production, quality, and efficiency goals. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred. 
  • Previous manufacturing or injection molding experience preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and quality documentation. 
  • Basic math and measurement skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Good communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with quality inspection tools such as calipers and gauges. 
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 9001, or IATF 16949 is a plus. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a 8–12 hour shift. 
  • Frequently lift, carry, and move materials up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance. 
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions. 
  • Ability to distinguish product defects through visual inspection. 
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving machinery. 

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing facility with injection molding equipment. 
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear as required. 
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required based on production demands.
