BUYER / PURCHASING SPECIALIST / PROCUREMENT & SOURCING SPECIALIST (Permanent)
Our client, a global manufacturing organization with headquarters in WNY, is looking to add a Buyer to their growing team. This role reports directly to the Materials Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sourcing and procurement activities to ensure optimal inventory levels
- Manage contracts for each assigned supplier
- Conduct negotiations regarding cost, delivery improvements, and quality materials
- Process POs, coordinate material flow from suppliers, and expedite orders, as necessary, to align with production and shipping schedules
- Manage and assess supplier KPIs
- Regularly review reports on Price Purchase Variance (PPV) and develop/implement cost reduction programs
- Review inventory levels of materials across several locations to ensure optimal internal inventory is maintained at all times
- Identify and research different methods to effectively reduce lead times
- Communicate with vendors via email, phone, and in-person to develop key relationships
- Address and resolve issues in a timely manner, communicating with vendors and internal team members
- Process vendors returns and non-conformance notifications (NCNs)
- Receive customer/production requests and ensure a response within 4 hours in an effort to maintain schedules
- Work well both independently and in a team environment
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is full-time, direct hire
- 100% in-office
- $65,000 - $75,000 annually depending on experience

- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related
- CPM or CPIM certification preferred
- 3+ years’ related experience
- Experience with ERP systems & inventory management systems
- Strong forecasting skills, data analysis
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organization skills and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated
