Position Title: Mechanical Support Engineer

Position Location: Uxbridge, Massachusetts Headquarters

Position Type: Hybrid

Compensation: $75,000 - $95,000 (Compensation depends on skills, knowledge, education, and experience)


Position Snapshot: The Mechanical Support Engineer provides technical assistance and engineering support for Lenze customers relating to mechanical systems, components, and equipment. Responsibilities include delivering support via phone and email, with occasional onsite visits as required. The position involves coordination with internal and external sales teams, customers, customer care, and other technical departments. Duties include product selection, troubleshooting, parameterization, and general support for Lenze customers.  


About you: You are a technically skilled, customer-focused professional who excels at diagnosing mechanical issues and delivering effective solutions. Your commitment to keeping current on products ensures you provide accurate, high-quality support tailored to customer needs. You proactively seek ways to improve the customer experience and work collaboratively across teams to drive service excellence.


A day in the life:

  • Respond to technical support inquiries related to Lenze mechanical products, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and identification of spare parts or full replacements. 
  • Assist customers with migration options for legacy mechanical products, ensuring smooth transitions to current solutions. 
  • Execute service calls in compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as Lenze’s health and safety policies. 
  • Represent Lenze professionally in both appearance and behavior, consistently acting as the customer’s best service provider. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Lenze products, services, and policies through ongoing learning and training. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve service delivery and identify opportunities to promote Lenze’s offerings. 
  • Travel may be required up to 10%, with rare overnight stays.


Requirements

  

What you will need:

  • 3+ years’ experience in related products and troubleshooting preferred 
  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience in related products and troubleshooting strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings required.
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries preferred: electric motors, gearboxes, transmissions.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to anticipate and meet the needs/wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Must be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.
  • Highly proficient computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • SAP experience preferred
