Job DetailsJob Location: North Vernon - North Vernon, IN 47265Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Not SpecifiedSalary Range: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 Salary/yearTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: 1st ShiftJob Category: EngineeringTechnical Estimating Reports to Estimating Leader JOB DESCRIPTION (Roles, Responsibilities, and Expectations) Summary/Objective This position is responsible for producing competitive and accurate quotes for the construction of plastic injection molds, Cast Dies, etc; Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Analyze 3D data, mold specifications, proposals for quote, and other documentation to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for products. Review data to determine material requirements and prepare itemized lists. Calculate cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work. Work with Purchasing on selecting vendors or subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness. Communicate with customers, vendors, sales team, and project managers, designers to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues during ongoing negotiations. Competencies Financial Management. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Typically no travel requirements could require travel to customers for meetings. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or 3 years on the job experience Within a year of graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering Preferred Education and Experience 3 Years as an Estimator. Experience in mold building processes. Strong mold design background. Strong knowledge of modern tool steels and plastic resins. Experience with prototype mold construction. Knowledge on 3D software capability. Capable of navigating design software to view and measure models during quoting process. Knowledge of injection molding processes. Capable of managing customer in high pressure situations. Qualifications
