The Fire Alarm Service & Inspect Technician is a role responsible for independently performing core technical functions related to the service and inspection of fire alarm systems. This position is capable of completing standard service and maintenance tasks without direct supervision. The technician applies industry knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and best practices to ensure systems are operating in compliance with applicable codes and standards.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 
Perform maintenance and service of fire alarm systems independently.
Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions.
Complete standard service calls without direct supervision.
Ensure that all inspections are completed on a timely basis and that inspections are done accurately and thoroughly.
Testing of all building Fire alarm control panels, devices, and functions of the fire alarm system and entering the test results into the Palm handheld device.
Upon completion of an inspection download the information and generate a completed Fire Alarm Inspection Report.
Interpret system drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
Use hand tools and testing equipment to perform required tasks.
Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company policies.
Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and inspection records.
Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors.
Identify potential system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment on job sites.
o Provide guidance and support to entry-level technicians as needed.
Travel to job sites as required.
Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.
Performs other duties as assigned by management
Education/Qualification: 
College Degree is preferred; however, a High School diploma or equivalent is acceptable with acceptable experience.
Study and learn NFPA standards for the inspection and testing of fire protection systems. Stay current with code requirements, and industry changes, and obtain NICET certifications
Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and be customer service oriented.
Must be able and willing to work within a team environment.
Fire Alarm experience is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in using test equipment including sensitivity test equipment, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communicating devices.
Need good networking PC skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and use of Palm unit operating systems.
Must be punctual. Being on time is critical due to the need to perform sound tests prior to building tenant arrivals.
Ability to be on the phone and computer consistently throughout the day.

Physical Requirements:
Industrial, Commercial, & Residential building environment with moderate to high noise levels, and comfort with working at heights.
Mostly a physically demanding role. Most of the daily demand is standing and walking stairs and climbing ladders.
May need to lift objects up to 50 pounds.
