Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on Compass Health Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.
About This RoleÂ
We are seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our patients and employees. If you are passionate about improving the patient experience through facility and maintenance coordination, you would be a great addition to our team. Â
Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.
Hours/Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:00am to 3:00pmÂ
What You'll Do:Â
- Day to day operations in facilities management functions Â
- Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable work environment for employees and patientsÂ
- Coordinate, oversee and/or manage repair and maintenance work assignments performed by technicians, vendors and contractors performing building maintenance, landscaping, and janitorial workÂ
- Coordinate, oversee and/or manage expansion projects Â
- Minor repairs and other work performed within scope of skills (ex: electrical work, furniture assembly, updating office labeling system)Â
- Review work orders within a maintenance portal ticket system to ensure assignments are completedÂ
- Responsible for daily, monthly, quarterly, annual facilities inspections, logs and reports
- Coordinate and manage moves, relocations, special events and projectsÂ
- On-call after hours to respond to alarms and emergenciesÂ
- Maintaining office furniture inventory and needsÂ
- Understanding office emergency proceduresÂ
- Set up and take down for CEU lectures, all staff meetings as well as other special eventsÂ
- Assist in hazardous clean upÂ
- Assist in facility supply ordersÂ
- Office supply organization/stocking supplies upon arrivalÂ
- Ad hoc handyman and carpentry projectsÂ
- There will be light psychical demands of this position up to 25% of your time, including lifting up to 50 lbs, carrying, walking, pulling and pushing. Â
Who You Are:Â
- Possess 1-3 years of facilities maintenance or property management experienceÂ
- Possess an understanding of OSHA and life safety regulationsÂ
- Demonstrate an understanding of systems such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical and mechanicalÂ
- Demonstrate good judgement, strong communication skills, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Have a positive attitude and a passion for working with peopleÂ
- Are diligent, organized, professional, detail-oriented and possess an ability to multitaskÂ
- Handyman or carpentry skillsÂ
