Description
The Program/ Mutuel Supervisor is responsible for producing and printing all the daily programs used by Track guests and assisting mutuel department during open hours.
Schedule
In this role, you will work a combination of both first and second shift. Shift times can vary in between the hours of 10am - midnight.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for all training of program department employees.
- Responsible to produce all on-site racing programs including program layout and printing.
- Responsible for program and mutuel sellers and their accountability while on duty.
- Responsible for opening and/or closing duties for program and mutuel department.
- Responsible for daily paperwork and reporting for programs and mutuels.
- Responsible for heavy duty copy and tote machines and their malfunctions and servicing.
Supervision
All Program Department and mutuel personnel including sellers and printers.
Requirements
- Knowledge of horse racing/simulcast industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, guests and horsemen.
- Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often-challenging environment where multi-tasking occurs.
- Must be able to obtain an Ohio State Racing Commission License.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Required
Work Experience
- 1+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience Customer service Required
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Flexible working schedule, which includes nights and weekends
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit throughout the shift
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds
- Requires frequent wrist and hand use.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- General knowledge of mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
- Ability to communicate effectively, concisely and logically in a timely manner and at an appropriate level, while maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to lead and mentor a team
- Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
- Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards
