Northfield, Minn. is home to two Post Consumer Brands manufacturing plants, the Campbell Mill and Ames Mill, two distribution centers, and more than 750 team members. The Campbell Mill plant is 1 million square feet and is home to 7 manufacturing technologies to produce a wide variety of cereal products our customers know and love. Northfield is a town steeped in history, featuring two colleges and the original Ames Mill where the Malt-O-Meal Company got its start. 

PAY

$20 an hour for day shift positions & $22 an hour for night shift positions

JOB FUNCTION

Seasonal general labor has responsibility for general sanitation, ingredient dumping, and end of line production tasks. This position relies heavily on following standard operating procedures for repetitive tasks. This position is a critical member of the food safety function and helps maintain strict GMP requirements. This position is required to support, implement, and maintain food safety practices as required through SQF. Will be responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality, and environmental practices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Performs general sanitation within general facilities and GMP support areas.

2. Supports end of line production by tote packing, ingredient dumping, case or tote folding, non-compliance inspection and rework, sampling, waste handling, loading shells and cases into packaging equipment.

3. Supports special and trial packaging formats that have not been automated.

4. Can safely operate Material Handling/inventory management equipment, such as scan guns, forklifts, pallet jacks, as required.

5. Processing tasks may include: mixing vitamins, reading PLC Screens, following processing cleaning instructions, operating dryers, operating mill room equipment, extruders and cookers. GL2’s may do limited tasks in processing, they will not operate any equipment using high pressure steam. These tasks are dependent on training completion.

6. Performs Quality Assurance checks after training completion.

7. Completes required training for all job responsibilities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience:

· Food manufacturing or related experience preferred.

· Good work history and acceptable attendance.

Skills:

· Basic level math and computer skills.

· Ability to work within a team environment and build positive professional relationships.

· Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form in English.

· Takes responsibility for ensuring work is completed within time and quality parameters.

· Ability to solve basic problems where standardizations/alternatives exist.

Physical requirements:

· Ability to use basic hand tools.

· Standing, kneeling, climbing and walking for extended periods of the day; capable of repetitive gripping, pinching, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling with weight ranges up to 50 pounds; ability to perform repeated twisting, bending and reaching of upper and lower extremities; exposure to hot and/or humid environments, heights up to 15 feet, working on ladders, and confined spaces (non permit required)and performing LOTO.

Schedule requirements:

12 hour shifts on a 2-2-3 weekly schedule pattern
