ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our Enterprise-Information Display System (E-IDS) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is a full-time on-site position at the William J Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTCAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.Â

The FAA’s Enterprise Information Display System (E-IDS) is a modernized, enterprise-level platform and display developed in-house to replace multiple legacy Information Display Systems (IDSs) in over 500 air traffic control facilities. It provides static and real-time consolidated data to controllers, including weather, airport runway status/visibility, maps, and facility directives aimed at improving efficiency.

Citizenship Requirement
All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.
- Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).
- Have resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.
- RealID Driver’s License/ID or current US Passport.

Education & Experience Requirement
All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.Â
- Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming or similar science/technology. OR
- A Certificate of Training in a two-year Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Programming or similar curriculum from a community college, vocational education school, or military training may be substituted in lieu of the associate of science degree, depending on other qualifications or experience.
- Nine (9) years of experience is required.
- NAS experience is desired.

 Required SkillsÂ
- Experience/Proficiency with/in:
- Design and implement configurations for thin clients, including management of devices such as 10ZiG Zero Clients.
- Design, administer, and configure Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments using VMware Omnissa Horizon.
- Scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Python or Bash.
- Enterprise networking.
- Ability to:
- Work independently, as well as a team, in a fast-paced environment.Â
- Navigate complex workflows; research and problem solve; willingness to learn/try new things.
- Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.

Preferred SkillsÂ
- Working experience in patching, firmware and software asset management systems, hardening version control (e.g. git), server racking, cable management and maintaining lab environments.

Essential Daily Job Duties
- Design and administer enterprise thin client VDI infrastructure as second level engineering support by:
- Organize the lifecycle of 10ZiG Zero Client (thin client) endpoints (or equivalent) and master images.Â
- Optimize VDI thin client configuration, VDI pool to ensure seamless user experiences.
- Support operational deployments and facility configurations, such as creating instructions for first level support operators to deploy the thin clients.
- Optimize connection to Omnissa Horizon VDI infrastructure and virtual machine storage, ensuring performance tuning, system hardening and seamless desktop delivery to endpoints.
- Automate tasks and configurations using scripting languages.
- Manage and maintain network and hardware infrastructure, such server racking, cable, and lab systems, such as 10ZiG Zero Clients, Raritan Dominion KVMs and ZPE Console servers.
- Execute enterprise-wide patch management strategies for all endpoints and lab hardware.Â
- Track hardware assets throughout their lifecycle.
