SUMMARY

The position is responsible for leading, facilitating and overseeing all activities in the CNC department. This includes loading product on and off the machine, loading programs, altering programs at the machine, tooling verifications, performing preventative maintenance and providing direction to department employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain the operation of the CNC machines.
Properly orient and place large stone tops and parts onto the CNC machine.
Stage and position product on the machine.
Utilize job processing software to monitor production flow and maintain production schedules.
Inspect and align correct tooling.
Unload the machine with quality checks.
Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
Load router style tooling into machine per order requirements.
Physically lift and move substantial parts.
Participate in production studies and improvements to improve efficiency.
Manage department and employees to meet/exceed department KPI’s.
Train department employees through the tiered matrix system.
Provide direct coaching/mentorship to CNC operators.
Train to become a backup Programmer and Tooling Engineer.
Comply with all LSI Safety Procedures.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma.
2-4 years of experience in a production machinery environment.
Prior leadership experience or skills.
Experience with root cause and root cause analysis a plus.
Some software and programming knowledge.
Experience with cutting and polishing tools.
Detail oriented.
Proactive and positive attitude.
Good math skills. Including measurements down to 0.001”

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Ability to work while standing for 8 to 12 hour shifts.
Ability to bend and stoop for 8 to 12 hour shifts.
Ability to identify defects through the use of touch and feel.
Ability to move and carry substantial parts on varied surfaces.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to safely operate overhead crane.
Ability to follow all safety requirements.
Ability to use measuring tools including micrometers.
