Payment Operations Associate

Location: Norwalk, CT

Department: Global Payments / Payments & Invoicing

Overview:

The Payment Operations Associate plays a key role in supporting the end-to-end customer payment lifecycle, including setup, maintenance, and issue resolution across recurring payment programs and operational workflows. This position contributes to accurate revenue collection, strong customer outcomes, and efficient back-office operations.

This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can manage high-volume processing activities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and service-level excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day payment operations, including customer onboarding, payment setup, account updates, and servicing requests
  • Maintain and administer recurring payment plans (setup, amendments, suspensions, retries, and cancellations)
  • Investigate and resolve payment-related issues such as failed payments, discrepancies, chargebacks, refunds, and disputes
  • Perform reconciliation activities, including identifying and resolving overpayments, underpayments, and duplicate transactions
  • Monitor operational workflows and queues to ensure timely completion of tasks within defined service levels
  • Support collections and payment recovery activities, including follow-ups and exception handling
  • Accurately maintain customer account and payment data across systems
  • Collaborate with internal teams (operations, customer service, finance) to resolve issues and support business needs
  • Contribute to operational reporting, tracking, and performance monitoring activities
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support implementation of enhancements
  • Ensure adherence to operational controls, compliance requirements, and data handling standards
  • Assist with testing, system updates, and special projects as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Prior experience in payment operations, billing, customer servicing, or administrative operations preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment strongly desired
  • Familiarity with payment systems and recurring billing processes is a plus

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norwalk, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
