Job Summary

The Enthusiastic Wine Professional supports the daily operations of the Wine Shop while providing exceptional customer experience. This role focuses on building relationships with customers, sharing wine and spirits knowledge, developing the team, and creating an engaging shopping environment. This role demonstrates expertise in product selection, food pairings, company exclusives, and industry trends to help customers discover the right products for their needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting, engaging, and assisting all customers
• Build strong customer relationships and encourage customer loyalty
• Collect customer email addresses and support customer engagement initiatives
• Assist customers with wine and spirits selections, including recommendations and food pairings
• Demonstrate knowledge of company exclusives and specialty products
• Understanding and knowing the stories behind the products
• Build attractive, creative displays and maintain excellent merchandising standards
• Assist with special orders and customer requests
• Manage and support tasting table activities
• Help plan, set up, and participate in special wine events and in-store experiences
• Support weekly customer communications, including emails and newsletters
• Drive sales through hand-selling fine wines and specialty products
• Assist with team samplings and product education
• Host team training and share wine and spirits knowledge with team members
• Support opening and closing procedures and supervise the team as needed
• Develop relationships with distributors and learn about new products and trends
• Assist with product selection and recommendations for store inventory
• Lead by example by demonstrating enthusiasm, teamwork, and a passion for wine and spirits

Education or Experiences:

• 3-5 years’ experience in Wine Business
• Formal tasting event with vendor
• WSET certification or working toward certification

Hourly rate is $20-$25 based on experience and qualifications
