Position Summary

We are growing — and we’re looking for a Vendor Relations Manager (VRM) to join our headquarters in Norwalk, CT. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for vendors in your assigned geographic territory
  • Building relationships with vendor leadership, decision-makers, and operations teams
  • Leveraging knowledge of vendor services, specialties, and pricing to match the right vendor to each client
  • Proactively assessing and addressing vendor needs while developing actionable improvement plans
  • Conducting quarterly business reviews and KPI discussions to drive engagement
  • Maintaining accurate vendor and contact data in Salesforce, documenting all interactions in real time
  • Collaborating across departments including operations, compliance, quality assurance, corporate development, sales, and strategic accounts
  • Sharing best practices with fellow VRMs to ensure consistency across vendor portfolios
  • Representing Protos with professionalism, integrity, and compliance at all times


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Account management or vendor relationship experience preferred
  • 2+ years managing a book of business in a service environment, procurement, or sales (security industry experience a plus)
  • Analytical, metrics-driven mindset with the ability to see the big picture
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address challenges quickly
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Proven customer service focus for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and CRM systems — Salesforce expertise preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% and support all U.S. time zones
  • Reside within commuting distance of Norwalk, CT (relocation not provided)
