Cordial Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Physician Assistant with psychiatric experience to provide on-site behavioral health care throughout the Norwich and Vestal areas of New York.

This full-time position offers a predictable weekday schedule and the opportunity to improve the emotional health, behavioral stability and overall quality of life of adult and geriatric residents.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits
  • Diagnose and manage psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Prescribe, monitor and adjust psychotropic medications
  • Monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness and side effects
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, therapists, social workers and families
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Educate residents, caregivers and staff regarding psychiatric diagnoses and interventions
  • Provide compassionate, trauma-informed and resident-centered care
  • Complete accurate, timely and compliant clinical documentation


Requirements

  • Board-certified PMHNP-BC or Physician Assistant with significant psychiatric experience
  • Active and unrestricted New York professional license
  • Active DEA registration required
  • Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology and treatment planning
  • Ability to manage a psychiatric caseload independently
  • Excellent communication, organization and clinical-reasoning skills
  • Geriatric, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care or post-acute experience preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems preferred
